verse

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

4 and 5 months!

How time flies! Carter is almost 5 months old. You would not know it by looking at him. He only weighs 8lbs. and 10 oz. and is 21 inches long. He may still wear newborn clothes but he does not act like one. Developmentally he is thriving. He can already roll over. He coo's babbles and giggles all of the time. With minimal assistance he can even sit up. He has come so far these short 5 months. His daddy and I are so proud of him.

The past few months have been full of ups and downs. Carter had his first emergency room visit due to dehydration. Carter does not always care for eating. With this and having a colostomy and his bladder exposed he is extremely prone to dehydration. Eating is still something we are working on. We have good and bad days. Although, recently most have been good.

We are extremly blessed that Carter is still a very happy baby, especially when his mommy is around. He is for sure a "mamas boy." This is perfectly fine until mommy has to go to work! Carter has brought more joy to his Daddy and I than we could ever imagine. We both say all of the time that we would not trade Carter for a well baby ever. Carter was made perfectly for his Daddy and me. I think about the sacrifice God made for all of us all of the time. It is so hard to see my innocent child in pain and his small body having to go through multiple surgeries without him understanding why. I could not imagine the pain God went through having to give his innocent child for us, sinners. All I can say is God is good!

We are still enjoying every minute we have with Carter. He has a MRI on February 2nd to tell us how detailed his spinal surgery will be. We are hoping to have the spinal surgery no later than March. This way Carter will be healed from it before we go back for our next evaluation at Johns Hopkins in May.God has blessed and continues to bless our little family everyday and for this we are grateful.

To him be the glory...
