Carter had another rough night last night. He continued to fight a high temperature and coughed all night. He is receiving medication to keep him sedated, so he is asleep, but he can still hear what is going on. He will open his eyes occasionally, smile and giggle every now and then. The cough was so bad last night that the sedation medication was hardly working. The only time he stopped coughing is when they gave him a TON of medication at one time and it basically knocked him out. This morning they decided to start breathing treatments and they have been a huge blessing. They have helped tremendously with the cough. Carter has not moved most of the day, because he is finally able to rest. He has ran a 102+ fever all day. The Doctor's are wanting to give the antibiotics, started yesterday, at least 24-48 hours to work. We are praying the fever will subside soon.
Carter's Doctors came in today and are thinking about taking him back to surgery tomorrow to have his G tube replaced with a GJ tube IF he has a good night tonight and his lungs do not seem to be doing any worse. This has not been the worst day by far, but we are praying that things start looking up soon. Again, we thank each and every one of you that has said a prayer for us, written us an encouraging message, commented on or liked the updates we have been giving. God has used each of you to keep our morale up and to give us strength when we start to feel weak. Y'all are another blessing that our faithful and loving God has given us. Always and forever, TO HIM BE THE GLORY!
He wasn't thrilled about it, but he got a good bath today!
