verse

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

And Jesus said to him,"I will come and heal him."

Carter is making steps in the right direction.  Yesterday morning Carter's incision, where they had to cut him to place the GJ tube started draining.  The on call surgeon came in and removed the steri strips.  The incision immediately opened and infection started pouring out.  It was extremely painful for Carter, although it has made a HUGE difference.  Within 45 minutes Carter's color started to improve.  He started to try to sit up and even wanted to play for a few minutes.  We had visitors later that day and Carter put on a show.  He waved and smiled and even passed around his toys.  He is gradually getting back to himself.  Praise God!

Carter is still not completely pain free, although he is a million times better!  Carter's incision is still draining.  He seems to be having more "normal" after surgery pain.  It has been absolutely wonderful to see him wanting to sit up, smile and play.  Our surgeon is working out all of the details to get us to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.  We are praying Carter will be able to transfer in the next week or two and we can get him started on the right track.

Your prayers have been very evident in the past 48 hours.  Carter still has a long way to go and we are asking for continued prayers.  Please pray God will continue to heal Carter.  Carter will fight the infection and have a smooth transition to Cincinnati Children's.  We are truly blessed to have such great followers of Carter's Journey!
Matthew 8:7 And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."

  1. So glad that he is feeling so much better. We continue to pray for him and although my son is not in Brandon's class at school, every night at the dinner table, he prays for baby Carter. Carter's story is touching so many people, my children included. Bless you all!

  2. I have not met your precious Carter. I have followed his story through Daddy's facebook page. I went to school with him what seems like 100 years ago. I just wanted to thank you for this blog. Carter has been such a bessing to me. I have prayed for him, the doctors, and you as parents. His story is always in my heart. It reminds me to always be thankful for what I have, the health of my own son, health of family, to enjoy every day as if it is my last, and to smile no matter what. It is also a ever present reminder of just how GREAT and POWERFUL our God is! There are so many life lessons that this little boy has taught me about myself and my faith that I could never list them all. So I will continue my prayers. And thank you again for sharing all these blessings with the world!

  3. Glad to hear that Carter is feeling a little better. Praying for continued improvement and for every thing to be worked out quickly for the trip to Cincinnati, and that the Dr's there will be able to help this precious little man. He has been such an inspiration to me as I follow his journey. You and Brandon are touching so many people through this blog, you'll never really know how many. Keep the faith and take it day by day.
